Try getting in a strong position with a lighter weight. Head up- chest up, and attempt to execute a lat spread during the entire exercise. This will bring the weight further away from the body, reduce stress on biceps and shoulder- more directly impact the lats, and allow the back to contract very early on in the movement so, more energy where it belongs.
